Wondering why you are writing under the title of Bound for Belize Didn’t you leave SAN Pedro? Just curious!

I was wondering when somebody was going to ask this question …
Yes, I wrote “Bound for Belize” for nearly five years and stopped shortly after we moved to Mexico in late 2017. Earlier this year, I started a blog called “Musings, Magic, San Miguel, and More.” My intent was to write about my new home but also broaden my interests and hopefully readership.
While I’d stopped writing Bound for Belize, people didn’t stop reading it. To this day it still gets more action than my current blog.
I discovered this when I accidentally reposted an item from one blog to the other. (Quite possible to do with a single push of a button, I learned.)
Further, I still have a couple of hundred friends that I had made while living in Belize, many solely from the blog.
When I repost, a lot of my old friends read the new writings and respond. That is personally gratifying. Some newer readers go through “Bound for Belize” and read older posts, which is also gratifying as I believe much of it is still relevant.
As long as people still respond, I will keep reposting to “Bound for Belize.” Sure, I wish they’d all move over to “Musings, Magic” and maybe some will. A day will come when “Bound for Belize” goes away, but my memories, affections, and friendships will never fade.
      Thanks for asking, my friend.

And thank you for taking the time to explain. That makes sense now! Always loved reading Bound for Belize but equally enjoying reading about your adventures in your new location.
After 12 years of going to SAN Pedro twice a year planning to make it my Golden Years home, things changed there so much in the last four or five that I am now wintering (from Canada) in Chapala, Mexico. Though I will always be partial to Belize, I will just be a Tourist next trip.
Looking forward to reading more about SAN Miguel. Hope you and Rosy are well and loving life.

We’re not so far apart. Chapala looks like an interesting place (with water!). The change in Belize, especially on Ambergris Caye is remarkable. I think that in five years’ time we will not recognize much of it. I only hope that some of the money being poured into resorts will also help save the island from itself. Enlightened self-interest, and all. Thanks again for writing — and reading!
