Rock, lobsta! A day on Caye Caulker is like no other day . . . anywhere
Right around Lobsterfest time you wait, and wait, for the call.
“We’ve got a boat. Are you in?”
And you are happy. And of course you are in.
There is no better way to experience the Caye Caulker Lobsterfest than on a boat full of friends, on a Sunday, under clear blue skies.
No better way.
Our ride on Sunday was the C-Monkey, owned by Marco and Karen. A beautiful boat owned by beautiful people. And friends! Did I mention a boat full of friends?
From here I could go on and on about Caye Caulker’s festival — three days of non-stop grilling lobster, volleyball, beauty queens, beautiful and happy people, festive drinks, cool sand, hot music — but this is much better experienced in pictures.
Enjoy. Be the lobster.
OK, now I’m just going to add a ton of pics. I’ll return later today after I teach school to add captions where possible. I just want to get these out there before the memory grows cold!

Sooo beautiful! We spent a day on Caye Caulker and met folks who now live in San Pedro, but were originally from the same tiny Northern Ontario town as a relative of mine. Such is the magic of traveling….no matter where you roam, you’re never far from home!! 🙂
P.S. so glad that your golf cart saga had a happy outcome….not matter how it found it’s way back to you.

So true. There is magic when you roam and people cross paths with surprising frequency. I love that about living here.

So what’s the story with the Lucky Lizard’s liquor license (say that three times fast). Are they serving liqueur or not?
And what do I have to do to get invited on one of these boat adventures? I booked a trip on Captain Carl’s boat. I tipped well, and shared our champagne.i wanna go, I wanna go, I wanna go! I will be back in SP from late August until mid to late
Sept. Maybe I’ll get an invite then?

The Lazy Lizard is definitely open for business, serving alcohol as madly as ever — that is if you can catch the eye of a bartender, which I don’t seem to be able to do. I think the previous lease and liquor license owner, Immer Perez, lost his bid to hang on to it in February. Who runs it now I have no idea. They put fresh coats of paint on parts of the building but beyond that it is the same old Lazy Lizard.
