Recently Rebecca Coutant of the San Pedro Scoop brought us news of a new coffeehouse in the southern end of San Pedro, the Rum + Bean at Mahogany Bay Village.

Today, we can report that a new coffeehouse has opened north of the Sir Barry Bowen Bridge!

Coupled with the recent rise in health-and-fitness related opportunities on Ambergris Caye, I just have to ask: Are we entering a new era of metropolitan sophistication, or what?

The bright and airy coffee shop is owned by a well-known and popular island musician, Valentino de Caliz. It is in the ground floor of The Hotel, adjacent to the recently reopened Molly Malone’s Irish Pub.

With its book-lined walls and music space, coffee and coffeehouse eats, Cafe Valentino has its grand opening tonight at 6 with some eats, music and good friends.

See you there?

We drove past both last week and could not tell from roadside if either was open for business. Will have a cup next trip in April.

Valentino is using Caye Coffee’s Back Street blend exclusively. Should be tasty in April!

Hi Shadia, that is a lovely part of the island. You’ll have a terrific time.
I’m sorry to say Rose and I will be out of the country when you are here. Would have loved to have met you.
In fact, we’ll probably be passing through Fairfield while you are enjoying the beach in front of Solaria!
